Here's a Salinger Quote I like:
"He said that a Man should be able to lie at the bottom of a hill with his throat cut, slowly bleeding to death, and if a pretty girl or an old woman should pass by with a beautiful jug balanced perfectly on the top of her head, he should be able to raise himself up on one arm and see the jug safely over the top of the hill."

The photos are great Levi! The quote is well...weird! :0)
Glad you're back.
Bags, welcome home my friend. I liked the quote too... next time someone cuts my throat, im remembering that one.
love it all. the pictures are phenomenal, although they probably don't do justice to actually being there in person. glad you're home.
beautiful photos. it is so good to have you back. i will miss you next year.
Hey, I have no idea who you are, but I was searching google for that Salinger quote and you came up. What exactly does it mean and how is it relevant to Franny and Zooey?
Sorry this is so random, I just don't know who to ask.
Thanks

I think this quote is making the simple point that even if life sucks and you are miserable you should still be able to appreciate beauty.
I think it fits into Franny and Zooey because all the characters are so disenchanted and miserable but you see them gripping onto simple beautiful things, like when Zooey looks out the window and watches the little girl playing on the sidewalk.
Thanks, I appreciate your perspective. I've asked a few different people now and yours seems to be the most fitting. Very good quote, very good book.
you are no longer back home. you are unhome. oh where oh where have you gone?
the blogging world misses you. Grace us with your presence soon.
